Gender Action Plan (GAP) Validation Workshop for AFD
Triangle hosted a pivotal Gender Action Plan (GAP) Validation Workshop under the “ReCEVAL” project, in partnership with the National Mental Health Programme Lebanon, Médecins du Monde Lebanon, Skoun Addiction Center, and Embrace, funded by the AFD (Agence Française de Développement). This workshop was a key initiative aimed at advancing gender-integrated and holistic mental health (MH) and substance use (SU) services in Beirut, Baalbek, and Tripoli.
The focus of the workshop was to validate strategic activities, indicators, and roles outlined in the GAP, ensuring that these initiatives addressed the pressing need for gender-sensitive service provision in Lebanon. Key stakeholders gathered to discuss the intersection of essential health system building blocks and sustainable, gender-sensitive services, reinforcing Triangle’s commitment to fostering equitable and inclusive health services in the region.
Triangle’s involvement in this workshop underscores its ongoing mission to drive impact through collaborative, inclusive initiatives that empower organizations working at the forefront of critical health and human rights challenges. By facilitating discussions around governance, service delivery strategies, health informatics, and financing, Triangle ensured that all stakeholders had a clear understanding of the GAP and its role in shaping a more inclusive and gender-sensitive mental health system. This validation workshop helped delineate the roles and responsibilities of staff, fostered ownership of the GAP, and emphasized the importance of a participatory approach to the plan’s implementation.
The outcomes of the workshop included strengthened capacity among service providers, enhanced commitment to gender equality, and the establishment of robust monitoring mechanisms. Triangle’s guidance in this workshop directly contributed to creating a sustainable and inclusive framework for MH and SU services across Lebanon, ensuring that the interventions meet both local needs and national priorities.
